Good Afternoon, I am currently looking for a career in health and safety. The specific types of roles I am looking for are Admin, officer and Advisor roles in the North West England region. I have just progressed to an Associate Member of IOSH and I have little experience. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank You Nikhael Bhagvaker

Or the other way around works- I was holding 2 nebosh certs (which i self funded and used annual leave to complete) and worked on getting experience in my job at the time until the opportunity came up, and I've continued getting further qualifications since. Is there any way you could get some experience in your current role or through volunteering/ shadowing? If you currently don't have any qualifications, it would be worth having a look and seeing what is out there. It may be worth looking at junior or dual roles- my first role was a Personal Assistant/ Health and Safety Administrator, which developed more into an advisor role, covering maternity leave. Have a look at the job descriptions and see what skills they want as well as qualifications- and make sure your cv and letter of application reflects these. Try and tailor your application to health and safety rather than the generic.
