Hello all,
I am looking for some advice on ensuring I am up to speed in current safety legislation and practice. I have worked for the past 11 years as an operations manager with responsibility for Health and safety as part of my role including setting H & S policy across 3 food factory locations. Standardising risk assessments, safe systems of work, COSHH, and management of all of the aspects for a safe working environment. I also had operational control of two of the factories so safety was not my one and only responsibility.
I am looking for a change into a safety role full time, but my last full safety qualification was a general NEBOSH cert back in 1997.
So my dilemma is I have many years experience but a qualification that is relevant but not viewed as current. What do you believe is my best route to be accepted for current safety roles?
Thanks in advance.

Assuming you are still in your role, you could probably get the evidence for a vocational qualification quite quickly.

I agree with Peter an NVQ L5 would be best to consolidate your knowledge.
