I am considering my next training course and have been tempted with a 45001 conversion course.  I am already competent in ISO 9001, Environmental Auditing and have been auditing Health and Safety for almost 20 years (am CMIOSH).  However, whilst I feel confident in general auditing, I am thinking I would like to be more credible in 45001.

Does anyone have any experience or can steer me towards the kind of course I would benefit from?

Thanks in advance.

Depending on your current auditor qualification you could undertake a migration course from 18001 to 45001 in either one or two days, depending on if you've undertaken a recent management system audit course to 2015 standard, based around Annex SL. One day if you have, two days if not. Either that, or just take a two day internal audit course in 45001.

I would suggest you are already 'competent' what is competency?

If you are already auditing 14001/ 9001 I trust you are editing against the most recent standards therefore you are conversant with Annex SL? you are also CMIOSH.......

Last year in undertook the LRQA (LR) 45001 lead auditor course, it taught me no more than the 18001 LRQA (LR) auditor course the only difference was the clause and Annex SL variant.....

I also took at 9001:2105/14001:2015 auditing course and there was virtually no difference between the Quality Standard and the Environmental Standard.  If you're also running OHSAS 18001 and looking to migrate I would suggest you already have an integrated EH&S system and the adjustments for 45001 will be minor.

I feel you would be wasting your money on this one.

HI,

I recently completed a Internal Auditing ISO45001 training course, 2 days and found it very beneficial. I am on the road moving from OHSAS 18001 to ISO45001. I had many years as a CMIOSH doing auditing but having completed the ISO45001 course would high recommend. Good Luck.
