Hi,

Have been in the UK for about a year. Most empoyeers have been asking for UK experience to be hired despite having years of experience in health and safety occupation. Any sugestion on how to bridge this gap?

Have you looked at volunteering some where? I know thats not easy either. You dont say where you have worked, but what level are you applying for. Its hard but lets say you have been a manager else where you may need to take an "assistant" job just to build up your experience of UK legislation etc.

Hi chidi

Employers set all sorts of hurdles some appropriate, some not, and some are often ill thought out and unnecessarily restrict the number of applicants that the recruiter's net may reach.

Perhaps if you gave us some indication of your qualifications and experience, we could be in a better position to comment.
