Hi everyone,

I recently came across a report about a damaged natural gas line that leaked gas into a street light. An electrician, unaware of the leak and unable to smell the gas, opened the cover. While isolating the street light, there was an explosion. Thankfully, he was wearing full Flame Resistant PPE and was shocked but unharmed.

I’m curious, does anyone in the utilities, telecoms, or similar fields issue simple gas detection equipment to check compartments before working on them as part of their SSoW?

thanks in advance
