Morning All,

I am reviewing the health surveillance at the company I work for and wondered if there were any guidelines on how often it should be completed in line with job role. i.e. FLT driver, Welder, Paint sprayer etc.

You need to clarify what you mean by “health surveillance”. Strictly speaking health surveillance is  about monitoring the effects of work activities on workers for example the effects of exposure to fume for welders or to harmful substances for  spray payers. As you should already have controls for exposure what you will be doing in practice is measuring the effectiveness of those control measures.  These would have to be done regularly depending on how much potential exposure. At least once a year but more often if there is evidence that the controls are not all that they should be.

FLT drivers are not subject to health surveillance as such, but they might be subject to a fitness to work check, for example for their eyesight.
