We have a fairly good approach to ladder safety; a complete register and inspection records and all ladders are tagged with a colour coded inspection tag. We want to ensure all personnel have knowledge of the up-to-date inspection colour tag so that any missing ladders are identified and not used. Inital expectations were that I would easily find a supplier with a large poster which we could update when the tag changes and display in Permit Issuing rooms and workshops but this was not the case! Any ideas or suggestion on where I can find what I'm looking for much appreciated..TIA

Hi Steve, welcome to the Forums.

Why not create your own "poster"?

.......possibly for display in other locations as well.

So, that when someone takes out a ladder with the wrong colour tag, those working nearby will be able to say. "Hang on the current colour for ladder tags, is yellow, so why are you using a ladder with a blue tag on it?"

Then a review of why so many ladders are being used when it is likely that inherently safer means of access are probably reasonably practicable much of the time.

Since post creation I have inquiries out for customised ladder safety posters that allow us to indicate the correct colour code. I think I've been led on a merry goose chase by my previous place of employment. They had a large A1 sized poster that stated yearly checks on lifting quipment had been made and the colour tag updated to...and from that I assumed going into this review I'm doing finding a suitable poster/sign for our purposes would be as simple as a google search for suppliers..it was not!

Thanks for the reply :)

Hi Steve

Google is only as good as getting the search criteria right!Criteria which are sometimes less obvious than one might expect.

Last week I was trying to find the contact details for an artist whose calendars we have had in our kitchen for years and years. Zilch.

When I reached the end of my tether I searched instead for an outlet selling their calendars. Found that.

Then, by chance the artist's email and phone number also showed up!
