Protecting workers from violence in the workplace is crucial for their safety and well-being. Every workplace should have clear rules and policies that explain what violence is, such as shouting, bullying, or physical attacks, and what actions will be taken if it happens. These policies should also tell workers how to report incidents in a safe and private way. All workers need training to understand how to handle tense situations, avoid conflicts, and know how to ask for help when they feel threatened. Workplaces should have security measures like cameras, bright lighting, and alarm buttons, especially in areas where people work alone or at night. Managers and supervisors must listen to employees’ concerns and take every report seriously. If a violent event happens, it should be investigated properly, and those affected should receive counselling or support. The company should also learn from the event to stop it from happening again. Creating a friendly and respectful workplace culture helps prevent violence and makes everyone feel valued, safe, and protected while doing their job.
