The company I work for has purchased a fleet of welfare units.  These are now scattered over a large number of sites around the country.  We have recently purchase a support vehicle to service the units.  However the question of electrical testing has recently come to mind. Am I right in thinking that a normal PAT process can be used to test any electrical equipment such as the microwave, kettle and toaster. Additionally is there a requirement to test the fixed wiring loom and installed equipment such as the water boiler.  The units are all solar powered with installed battery backup.  Any thoughts would be appreciated. 

The three items all fit the description of a Portable Appliance so why would you do any different?

Probably set up an annual BS 7671 Electrical Inspection Condition Report on the primary loom due to the potential for the structure flexing during transport between sites in line with renting static caravans.
