Posted By Robert K Lewis RESIDENT SITE SAFETY ADVISER Temporary Contract (possible permanent inc. car) Based on site in West London, the succesful candidate will report to the Safety & Environmental manager and assist in the routine monitoring of site operations. The site runs until the end of 2003 at minimum and it involves the full demolition and redevelopment of an occupied office complex. This is also a CIRIA project site for waste mangement and is seeking ideas to maintain the drive for waste reduction on site. Current Safety Initiatives are Take 5, Unsafe/Commendable Act indexing and safety leadership workshops. Close co-operation with the Client and the Design project teams is essential for the functioning of the post. It is an ideal opportunity to learn in a focussed environment. Posted By Robert K Lewis Diane, Take5 is a short process based on the steps STOP; Step back and observe THINK through what you are about to do IDENTIFY Hazards (problems) CONTROL hazards and communicate those that cannot be controlled COMPLETE task safely
Iyt is issued as an A6 size card at induction
Unsafe Act indexing is a bit more complex and involves counting of UA's occurring in a fixed time period, done by line managers on a regular daily basis. These figures with the number of counts and the no of staff can give an index of UAS perman per standard count
