Posted By Andrew Gordon Hi, is there any employer out there in the Yorkshire area willing to give me a start in Health and Safety. I am studying for the Gen Cert but working in a different industry, I would prefer construction but would be willing to consider anything. I just need taking under the wing of a professional and shown the way.

Posted By Lee Bennett Andrew, Its the old classic, no experience = no job, no job = no experience. There are many of us who read (and lurk) on this site who have been in your position. Firstly do not concentrate purely on qualifications, try to build up a portfolio based on your work that included Health and Safety, carrying out risk assessments, working on policies, inspections, projects etc. When you have passed the NEBOSH Cert (positive thinking) consider doing a Diploma, there are others as well as NEBOSH (check out the membership information to the left of this screen). Don't give up! Regards Lee.
