Posted By Steve Trower In the process of looking for a next career step in H&S, I've come across a few jobs including environmental management along with it. As I don't have any working experience in this area, can anyone tell me what sort of things I should be making myself aware of, and perhaps point me in the direction of some useful websites, environmental policies, etc? Any help is much appreciated. Steve

Posted By Roy Gladwell Steve I have over 50 web sites for environmental information here are one or two. All start with www. defra.gov.uk environment-agency.gov.uk croner.co.uk iema.net englishnature.org.uk greenpeace.org.uk foe.co.uk efw.org.uk environwise.gov.uk efw.org.uk If you look at these websites and look for information such as, Intergrated pollution control (IPC) Air Quality Statutory nusiance Water Waste management Contaminated land Hazardous substances Nature conservation Planning Intergrated Pollution Prevention & Control (IPPC) With most of these, searh on the environment agency web site first. These are the sort of issues that you will need to understand. It would also be useful to understand how to conduct an environmental risk assessment.

Posted By N Derbyshire Steve, We are a specialist recruiter working in the HSE field, I would advise taking a look at www.IEMA.net (the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment's website) they have lots of news and info that may be of use. Any questions, please contact me. Regards Neil Derbyshire.
