Posted By SRJ Just thinking what type of experience should someone be looking for, i have just passed the general nebosh, and have been offered three hours per week on a large construction site, rewriting of a Health and safety policy for a laboratory, any other ideas? Was thinking of offering free services to the smaller security guard companies. Any help appreciated Thanks

Posted By Mike Miller You might try your local education authority to enrol on board of school govners as safety advisor. Animal charities or maybe new business start ups etc. etc.

Posted By Adrian Clifton If you are looking to gain experience through voluntary work, try a Local Authority, you may find your arm being taken off at the elbow. It will also broaden your approach to H&S and help to understand "Best value" (all the rage now), otherwise, if you have the chance to become a H&S Rep it will get you more involved. Good luck as I know from experience how difficult it can be. Adrian Clifton MIOSH
