Insurance Companies use of Risk Conultants

Do you ever wonder how Insurance Companies set the Premiums for businesses ?
There are several factors that come into play, an important one being the use of Risk Consultants such as myself. I visit businesses to identify their exposures with regard to the H&S of employees and others. The businesses are then assessed to how well these exposures are being managed, (and recommendations are made where these are found wanting). The process sounds familiar ?!
The role is not restricted to just H&S, Environmental, Product Safety, Quality Assurance, and other issues require assessing as well.
Is the job it stimulating ? Certainly.
Is it challenging ? Frequently.
Is it rewarding ? Well I still enjoy doing it after 12 years. However there is too much work. I need some more colleagues (NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent) in the Bristol and Greater London areas.
Interested ? drop me a mail , nigel.hooker@aig.com

Nigel,
I am not just restricted to the Midlands. You or Valerie could send me some from the West Country if you need help. I have covered Somerset and South Wales for you in the past.
Regards,
Paul Craythorne
