Posted By peter gotch We took on 8 staff last year, including one to replace our Corporate Services H&S Adviser, after previous incumbent found his dream job, and one to replace a resignation from our consultancy unit + 6 new posts in our consultancy unit. We have a track record of helping people up their H&S learning curve, eg our former secretary now has NVQ4 and MIOSH, and en route has been as far as the Falklands (to deliver IOSH Managing Safely) We intend to create 6 more new posts in 2004, including with a view to at least one trainee position, and can see that you may have experience that could strengthen our overall team. Our preferred training route is via NVQs as I think that an exam with a 75% failure rate, ie NEBOSH Diploma Part 2 is liable to depress the candidates, whereas we can readily offer an NVQ candidate the necessary breadth of projects and risks to enable them to complete their portfolio relatively quickly, yet without dropping them (and thence us!!) in the proverbial. Examples of our client base include English Partnerships, Network Rail, Kent County Council, Thames Valley Police, London Eye, NHS24, Premier Prisons, Scottish Enterprise Glasgow, Highlands and Islands Enterprise, together with input into the Group's broader range of commissions, eg upgrading of Govan and Scotstoun shipyards, decommissioning works at UKAEA Winfrith and Dounreay, reopening of Stirling to Kincardine railway line, M80 extension etc etc + work for our internal client. If you would be interested in being considered for a position in which we could stretch you, but without dropping you (and hence us) in the mire, and where you could accelerate your career development please email me your CV. Regards, Peter
