WORK HISTORY
2001-Present Factory Operative / Safety Rep, Kohler Mira Ltd
My work involves all aspects of the production of High Quality Shower Trays, I am presently working as part of the finishing Department ensuring all standards set down by ISO 14001 are met.
Currently involved with the development and operations of Thermoforming Shower trays.
Actively participating as a Health & Safety Representative for the past couple of years.
Health & Safety duties include liasing with management, implementing and continual improvement of all Safety procedures e.g. working along side all levels of management to help ensure a Health and Safety culture is achieved throughout the whole of the company, writing, updating and training operatives in all R/A and SSW, investigating and writing reports on all near misses and accidents in the area.
Presently waiting for results for the Health & Safety NEBOSH certificate, also part of the Waste Minimisation Team, looking at all aspects of waste reduction within the company.
1995-2001 Machine Operative / Safety Rep, Orvec International
Began Employment as a Print Labourer, on a 2-colour Flexographic Printing Press, printing Head Rest Covers/ Pillow Cases/ Tray Mats & Trolley Covers for most of the Major Airline & Train Companies.
Advanced to operating a 4 then a 6-colour Flexographic printing press, which included printing on both sides of the cloth, waxing the material to create a non-slip surface, and also cutting down material.
My role included, collating and inputting productivity figures, ensuring new staff were trained to a satisfactory level of competence and also checking and monitoring the quality of the products produced.
Stock checking and reordering goods were a regular part of my duties as well as assessing all Health & Safety requirements within the Printing department e.g. writing and updating R/A and SSW procedures also ensuring all COSHH requirements were kept up to date.
With the sole responsibility of First Aid measures on the night shift.
Other duties included, mixing Inks for all operatives, inducting, liaising with suppliers, quality control and also making sure that we met and improved the standards set down by ISO 9002.
1989-1995 Househusband
Due to the birth of my Son and Daughter, my partner and I decided it would be best for me to look after them.
Whilst doing this, attended college, studying for a BTEC in Computer Studies. Unable to complete the course due to escalating costs. Gained a City & Guilds in Carpentry and Joinery.
1988-1989 Asst Dept-Head, Arthur Fish (Fruit & Veg Merchants)
Started work as a Labourer, worked my way up to a Machine Operative, then to Asst Dept-Head.
My duties included, responsibility for quality, ordering produce, keeping deadlines, also keeping account of around 30 members of staff.
1984-1988 Shop Assistant/ Merchandiser, Gateway Foodmarkets Ltd
Duties included Merchandising, Warehousing, Stock Control, Cashing-Up and dealing with customers.
