Posted By mark bradley I am seeking employment within the health and safety sector as possibly a safety officer or as an assistant to gain more experience of managing safety systems. I have 8 years experience of working within the construction industry, Most of that time was also as a safety rep, I am currently employed in storage and distribution as a safety officer, however i am looking for more personal development than i can currently achieve at my existing workplace. I hold a NEBOSH general certificate and various other certificates of competence including the CIEH professional trainers certificate. I am hoping to start studying for the pt 4 Diploma as soon as possible, any help or information on looking for employment would be much appreciated. I am based in the East yorkshire area, but am willing to travel etc. Mark Bradley

Posted By Chris Black Mark your main asset, after the NEBOSH and your esperience, is your training qualification Get a hold of the careers bulletins for the local councils and NHS authorities in the areas where you are prepared to work, these jobs are not always posted in the papers or safety press. They pay good rates for health and safety trainers, especially those who can carry out manual handling training and assessment. The major benefit would be involvement in a large, multi-disciplinary team where you you could steadily build-up your portfolio.
