Posted By Tony I am currently looking to hire a number of space heaters for two satelite workshops that we have on site (but with no heating) I am not sure if there is any legislation or regulations covering the use of space heaters if any one has any guidance or experiencees that they would care to share I would be grateful

Posted By Richard Tony, I'm sure that this sort of equipment is covered under the Gas Safety (installation & Use) Regulations 1998 as far as regular maintenance goes, but i'm sure the regs allow exemption to change lpg containers without the use of a corgi registered engineer (e.g use a competent employee or the hire company. Hopefully it is LPG Space heaters you are hiring. Siting will need to take into account fire hazards, potentially flammable atmospheres (dusts, fumes, vapours etc.), trip hazards, blocking of escape routes, etc etc. regards
