Posted By MALCOLM HAMILTON Any info on the requirements for disposal of human hair within a Beauty/Hair training establishment. In addition are there any H&S concerns in relation to human hair.

Posted By Andy Lucas Malcom, As far as I am aware hair from a hairdressers is not classified as clinical waste, however it is trade waste and needs to be disposed of properly. I don't think there are any particular concerns about hair, and therefore providing that simple common sense prevails there are no particular precautions to be taken ie do not eat it etc as there is always the risk of infection eg clostridium perfringens.
