I am currently working on a project which includes the establishment of a telephone call centre. I am looking for an example and possible sources for a software program that requires/advises a workstation user to check and adjust their workstation when logging on.

Any help would be gratefully received

As if by magic, just after looking at you message, the post arrived on my desk. A company called Chaos Ergonomics sent a advertising flyer on their DSE software.

Try their website

Software packages for DSE 'start-up' guidance and/or to notify of the need for workbreaks are available from a number of sources, and the one that's right for your needs probably hasn't been written yet. My point is, be careful that the system you choose is appropriate to your needs or can be modified; be sure that the advice is realistic and incorporates regular changes so that workers don’t quickly come to ignore the message; be sure that there is support available and that if the displayed guidance can't be achieved for whatever reason, that you have someone available to help.

I know a number of companies have such systems in place and their advice would be invaluable to you. If no current user responds to your message here, try contacting the ‘Office Health and Safety Group’ (Secretary – Geoff Fitch) at officehandsgroup@aol.com (I think).
