Thanks for the information, Jay. I hadn't heard this one. NIOSH don't seem to list PFOS and 3Ms do not have the product on their USA & Canada MSDS databases! However they still include their 'Scotchguard Automotive Uphostery & Carpet Protector' - which has a secret 'flouochemical' (see below).
It seems that the relative humidity route may be the most acceptable at this stage.
