I am concerned with the shortage of companies that sell chairs that can you use on stairs.
The cost,maintanace is very high and the restriction of choice from our existing company.
I am very concern with the situation, can anybody help with any lists or had any experience in this field.

The only company I have been involved with in the past is Paraid, of Birmingham who manufacture a chair called the Evac+Chair. You can contact them on 0121 706 6744. I don't know of any other manufacturer and as you say, it is a somewhat limited market place.
Hopefully, their use is restricted to the Fire Drill situation and as long as you have volunteers who are trained in their use it should not be too much of a problem. Regular checks on condition should also be carried out but I am not aware of maintenance being a problem, again because of their limited use.
