Posted By Dylan Williams Dear All, I`m looking for guidance on health & safety within Funeral Parlours, I`m aware that there is a publication by the British Institute of Embalmers, but I`m unable to get hold of the document for a while. So,if anyone has guidance on what issues to look for, safe working practices etc, I would be very grateful. Please contact me by e-mail on dylan_r_williams@urscorp.com , if not I can provide other contact details. Many thanks Dylan

Posted By Bryn Maidment Dylan Scanty detail but I'll get the right reference later and pass it on - Royal Institute of Public Health and Hygiene, Gt Portland St, London - they do a number of publications for Mortuaries and similar. Bryn, UHL

Posted By Bryn Maidment Dylan Tried e.mail without success! The Royal Society can be contacted on 0207 580 2731 and the publication is "Handbook of Mortuary Practice and Safety". The other useful one is "safe Working & Prevention of Infection in the Mortuary and P. Mortem Rooms" from HSEbooks. Hopefully, FPs are not involved in the same issues as mortuaries, or at least not to the same degree but the info contained in these two pubs should still be useful.
