Posted By Steve Whittle Andrew, The European standard EN1088 'Interlocking devices associated with guards' gives guidance on safety interlock switches which interlock guard doors with the power source of the hazard. It is intended to be used in conjunction with EN60947-5-1 - Electromechanical switches and an equivalent standard for magnetic and proximity type switches.(which will probably be numbered EN 60947-5-3) If you do not want to buy the standard, there is some information in a free publication called 'Safebook 2' published by Guardmaster Ltd Hindley Green Industrial Estate Wigan Lancs WN2 4HR Tel 01942 255166 Fax 01942 523259 I called them a couple of months ago and they sent me a free copy in the post. Regards, Steve
