Posted By Kevin Minton I am looking at the risk of legionella from simple evaporative room coolers. These generally have some form porous membrane that is wetted from drip feed or water tray. Air is blown over the membrane to provide a local cooling effect. I would appreciate any info or pointers that go beyond L8 to specific risks. Thanks in anticipation..

Posted By Robert Woods Have you tried your local EHO? There is a duty to register wet cooling towers and/or evaporative condensers. HSE also have info in HSE The control of legionellosis including legionnaires' disease HS(G)70 HSE Books 1993 ISBN 0 7176 0451 9 Bob Woods.

Posted By John Bennett Kevin, I would consult the contractor/company employed to carry out you microbiological testing/control program. These people are usually very knowledgeable and should be able to offer you some sound advice. Regards, John
