Posted By Nigel Saunders Can you please advise me as to what further training I need to take to enable me to work my way closer to employment with the HSE. I have been working in the Offshore Industry for 13 years. Firstly, as a Professional Diver then on to Diving Supervisor. I am currently working in Thailand for a joint Shell/Caltex venture as an SPM Superintendent working closely to and taking a great interest in ISO standards. I have been in contact with the BSC who advised dipSM. This course only taking 6 or 7 weeks. Is this the correct path for me to start? I want to work my way to HSE Inspector in the inshore/Offshore Industry or as a Safety Consultant. This is my first step in gaining the correct information before making any final decisions,I would appreciate any help you can give me in this matter. Your faithfully Nigel Saunders.

Posted By Des Power The next time your in the UK, look up the address of your nearest HSE diving inspector and go and talk to them. Unless they are 'very' busy they will usualy take time out to help you anyway they can.
