Hello,
I hope that you are all enjoying the summer heat. I am when I am not at work. The office, however, is a humid and sweaty experience that would benefit greatly from air conditioning. When I asked for PORTABLE air cooling plant to be installed I was informed that;
A. This plant requires an external air supply
B. There may be biological hazards involved
Does anyone out there have any information regarding this plant, and do you know of any technological advances that may help in the short term.

In the past I have bought or hired portable air coolers and they have worked well. You can get small units which cool and recirculate room air (no external air supply needed.) I have identified no appreciable hazards with these units, biological or otherwise. I'd advise that you contact one or two local suppliers and ask which units they can supply and at what cost - at the same time you can ask them the "safety" questions. It sounds to me as though someone in your organisation has got the wrong idea.
