Posted By Robert Woods There are dozens of companies offering safety training in the telephone book but it will cost thousands to be trained too the same standard as a Trades Union safety rep who has taken the courses offered by TUC education. Trades Union H&S education is free to union safety reps. I am neither pro or anti union but research has shown that a workplace with union safety reps has on average a fifty percent better acccident record than a similar business with no union safety reps. The TUC certificate in OH&S is accepted by IOSH, and will enable you to apply for membership as TechSp. I apologise to the training organisations for any distress this reply causes and look forward to some robust comment.

Posted By simon fuller Brian I would suggest managing safely iosh as they are not accredited tuc reps via a recognised union. But it depends what role you want the reps to play in the set up!!!! simon
