Usually if its from home to work and work home not unless the worker is in a company vehicle although the liability would start the minute the worker enters the workplace. If its during the working day then the cover will apply. Obviously there will be some exceptions to the above, occupiers liability etc.

Posted By Peter J Harvey If the employee is not based within a company site and travels from home to different premises (safety advisor for instance) the liability would start with that initial journey to work.

Insurance Officer (unreported, 85/88)the Court of Appeal held that an employee who had to travel directly from his home to appointments away from his regular office was at his "place of work" as soon as he left home and that therefore the road was included in the definition of that particular employee's place of work in those circumstances Ref: Kluwer (Health and Safety Case Law Index)
