Posted By Dave Putt How about bonkers bikers to start the ball rolling?
I have to declare an interest....in watching you guys and gals!
Given the recent article on corporate manslaughter and outdoor activities, I'm aware of a site in the Midlands that does off-road driving, quads, buggies, clay pigeon shooting etc etc. Convenient for many of you?
Got to have a place in 'elf and safety rather than starchy conferences and Branch meetings (praps I should say as well as!)

Posted By Dave Todd Hi Margia,
You're sure the Beeb will travel? Do you have contacts ? A feature on Top Gear would be a perfect end to this event................
And the biker chick thing. Which area are you in? I'm sure One of us could arrange a pillion service to & from the venue.

Posted By Con.. Hi John,
Bring it on & keep er lit!
I'm a CMIOSH consultant and I upgraded to a BMW F800S last Oct - between commuting to clients and weekend driving I did 15,000km in 12 months. 3,500km were done accross the North of Europe this Sept.
I'm based in Ireland - but count me in!
Con..
P.S. - Hopefully - I'll have either my FJR 1300 or my GTR 1400 by then - any comments on these two bike from other members!

Posted By John Mackessack All,
I'll post again soon with some ideas...
Con,
FJR1300 or GTR1400? BIKE magazine this/last month had a big tourer test through europe which trialed these alongside the BMW K1200, RT1200 and Pan.
If you can't get a copy, drop me an email and I'll forward it on.
Incidentally, what bit of Ireland are you based?

Posted By mark limon Are there actually any plans in the pipeline to have a trackday. There seems to be people from a wide area who have responded so getting a track convenient for eveyone will be difficult but it would be a pity to see such interest just fade away.

Posted By Jonathan Compton Here here...
I'm picking my new bike up on saturday so I'm ready to roll!!
say Mack, why not just put up a couple of dates and we can have a vote. I'm sure if there are some that can't make this one there'll more opportunitues, we have the whole of summer '08 ahead of us (if you actually believe we get summers in this country anymore)
Setting a date is the easy part, praying for good weather is the bit that can make or brake us

Posted By Will Pool Just to put a slightly different slant on it. I would love to attend a track/training day as I have been mad about bikes since I were a boy.
In the last 4 years I have spent £1000's attending as many rounds of the British Superbike as I could.
However most circuit racing is under threat of closure due to a lack of safety marshalls.
It is a volunteer position which I have just been accepted into, I have my first training day in January prior to marshalling (under competent supervision) in the new season.
Oh by the way, I ride an old CBR600.

Hi refer to comments on (off-road biking), i am a OHS consultant based in Scotland and main hobbie is racing off road bikes, i compete in the Scottish enduro championship and race clubman level ( risk junky or what!) never had a serious off in all my days competing, must say though when working with clients or carrying out training once i mention my hobbie head's turn, but this type of exposure helps me greatly when explaining or making people appreciate risk perception involved in their daily job's.
Saying that why dont we enter an enduro team into a british championship round.
