Is it possible to study for construction cert by self study and register for the exam without having any formal tutition? Do nebosh allow this?

Yes it is, I did the same thing at the end of last year. I arranged the practical and construction hazards exams through an accredited centre who then registered me with nebosh.
Pass certificates arrived the other day in fact!

the hard part is to get an accredited centre to take you on as they exist by charging training fees

HI All... Hey 123, Which centre did you use??? Am doing Cons.Cert via Distance learning but find the price does not reflect what you get so will be doing the Fire Cert ( self-study) and the people I am using at present charge far too much just to register me so anyone with a centre they know of would be gratefully accepted.. Is it possible for somebody to pass exams without doing course. I have degree in environmental science, construction site experience both hands on and supervisory.

I passed my Nebosh Construction Cert with a credit without tuition but I would advise that it must be a whole lot easier with tuition, plus you bounce off ideas and best practices from others when you study as a group.

Good luck whatever way you choose to do it.

I did the GC that way.
It was supposed to be a correspondence course but the trainer local FE insisted the assignments were typed up.
