Just finished a short 'in house' training course and was told by one of those attending "Thanks very much ....it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be!!!"
Would you class this as positive or negative feedback?
I'm still trying to work it out!! :-)

I was once shown a Course Assessment sheet, where the answer to one of the questions "who else should attend this course?", was answered with "everyone should suffer!"

Hi,
I wouldn't pay much attention to individual gripes or moans, go with the majority view from your evaluation sheets. A few trainees will be having a bad day and that will colour their course assessment, others will have just won the lottery and will be ecstatic.

I'd say that's good, Fornhelper.
I'm sick of delivering courses only to have someone come up to me afterwards and say "I'm having an extension built on the side of my house........"
Another one said "You're not very tall, are you?"

I think many people's perception of H&S training is "oh God, that's going to be REALLY boring" so getting told it wasn't as bad as they thought I'd see as being positive.
I've been training some of the staff in my workplace and trying to make it interesting - so have a couple of props that I use which normally gets a laugh (a fart machine for example!) but also gets a serious point over (I'll let you use your imagination for what I use the machine for!)

We're NHS so don't have these kinds of props. We use a bloke from the Portering dept.

I presented a Power Point talk on CDM recently and everyone fed back positively except for one lady who criticised the quality of the screen I used.
What cheek that was as it was her who was responsible for providing me with the equipment!

I reckon its a positive comment.
I was once told by a fellow workmate (after having to go out in my car to 'rescue' someone from broken down vehicle) that they don't usually give compliments but I drove like a man.
Insult or compliment????
