Posted By Brenda H Hi, I have been told that if you paint a Class O material (concrete or plasterboard) with a non-fire retardent paint with 10 or more layers, so it becomes a certain thickness, then you can de-classify the Class O material and should paint over it with a fire retardent paint? Can anyone point me in the direction of this advice or guidance? Thanks

Posted By Messy Shaw There has been plenty of research carried out after numerous small fires, which despite originating in 'sterile' means of escape, the fire has spread alarmingly quickly. A coating company has produced a handy brochure. OK it's a sales tool but does provide some background and other useful info www.tor-coatings.com/_assets/library/339.pdf
