I think that this has appeared before... but here go's!

I have been asked to provide a drugs & alcohol policy and wonder if anyone would be able to share such a document for me to work on in order to put our own in place?

AC, Lots of everyday items people eat and breath in can give the same indications (when tested) as illegal drug abuse.

I would try to steer them away from this nonsense

My thoughts on this topic,
this is again one of those items that will not work, will affect innocent workers, will put half the construction industry workforce out of a job if it was made statutory.

How will you test a person, how often, who will you test a "judge" (who may be positive because they ate a bar of chocolate), with what equipment, who will be competent to use the equipment, who will train them to use it, who will pay for the training, the employer,in an already declining industry

the workforce will just see this as another load of crap from the H & S bods, which includes me and will make my job even harder to convince employees and concentrate on the real dangers of persons at work

What does this mean? If we are talking screeing cups then agree - false positivies are a possibilty. This is why any positive provided by a screening cup should be analysed by an apporved lab.
