Posted By Yossarian Interesting article using the "elf'n'safety" slant to justify what really looks like a commercial decision to gain increased revenue from the installed tumble dryers: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/...england/kent/8038535.stmWhy don't the launderers just come clean on the issue?

Posted By Pete48 They are really getting in a spin over this one. Looks like a whitewash job to me. We need to peg back on this sort of line.
Hehehehe, P48

Posted By Pete48 They are apparently less dangerous in Cornwall where only string lines are not allowed on many sites. Rotary lines are OK as long as "they are out of sight of your neighbour" which has ring of Monty Python about it, don't you think.
I am sure eventually we will iron out all the creases in this story.
I am going now honest, the men in white coats are here.

Posted By Yossarian Are the coats "that blue-whiteness you prefer" Pete?
To be fair though, a collision with a string line in the dark could cause a tumble.
It begs the question, what is their policy on guy ropes on tents or wind breaks - have they banned them yet, after all it's the same problem?

Posted By Yossarian I knew it would all come out in the wash once we discussed it here.
It's good to give the issues an airing though.
