Are there definative guidlelines about company policy, safety management sytems etc.

Where does the line fall, if we have 2 companies but the same owner, the same nominated person to deal with H&S, the same office etc.

Do we have to have a different H&S policy and H&S management systems etc??

Thanks in advance

Unless you are a massive company managing very high risk environments, why not have one policy that covers both.

In the end its not necessarily the paperwork that makes you safe, it just helps sets out a structure.

I doubt your enforcement authority would worry about this.

Its probably better to do something that works. Try a surf around the documents on the HSE web-site for ideas about your 'industry' and put more effort into managing the risks as such.
