Posted By Martin J Morley Hi there, There aren't any specific requirements, but the need to allow safe working zones is well dealt with (complete with diagrams) at teachernet's site for D&T accommodation: http://www.teachernet.go...ology/1_home.cfm?id=4010 There is also a useful document from Cleapss, PS68, "Design and technology class sizes, room sizes and possible effects on safety" hope this helps, martin

Posted By Peter Still You might also find something in BS 4163:1984 "Code of practice for health and safety in workshops of schools and similar establishments". Your local public library might have online access to the standard.

Posted By Peter Still Sorry, I copied from a reference to the out of date edition. Correct reference is BS 4163:2007 Health and safety for design and technology in schools and similar establishments. Code of practice.
