Hello All,
I have had an issue which I know what i want to do however the company want to do something else
one of out workers sustained an injury to his back out side of work and was off work for a bout a week, when he returned to work he was put on light duties he now wants to go backt o normal duties which in some cases is doing lifting etc the note he has handed in is from himself and not a doctor and states he still gets twinges and aches and wants to do normal duties.
i personnal with the quote above of Aches and twinges would want a medical note to confirm he is ok for normal duties as a pain of any sort would normally mean the injury hasnt healed properly, however his direct manager has agree for him to start his normal duties

where do we stand on this one?

any thought

many thanks

Wayne

Afternoon,

I attended a training course run by the DWP and IOSH at the Grange last month, and the message there was that in situations like this we can make our own decisions, based on judgment and risk assessment. There are resources you can use; don't take my word for this, look at http://www.ohtoolkit.co.uk/, which is an IOSH site.
