Hi All Our company wants to issue a monthly magazine with a message from each departmental head regarding contracts lost won etc.
My message will of course involve H&S
What I am looking for is fun ideas for a xmas message with a serious content that of course is relevant to xmas and construction activities, maybe pictures to go with it.
Anyone any ideas I would appreciate receiving them
Thanks
Alan

On this subject, a few years ago there was a Powerpoint presentation doing the rounds on safety at home during Xmas (in the kitchen, use of steps/ladders putting up decorations, elec safety re: lights / outside displayes etc) Sounds bit OTT, but useful reminder to send out to folks at this time of year Anyway, I can't find it(!) Anyone got something similar?

Christmas presents special hazards .....................
I did something with that header many years ago, in the company quarterly newspaper. I'll see if I still have a copy and try to scan it to you.

I'm just in the process of putting togethre a flyer which will include something along the lines of:
Working at Height: When putting up your office decorations never use a swivel chair as it could easily send you off balance. Use a stepladder.
Emergency exits: Don’t obscure emergency exit signs with decorations. Some party guests may not be familiar with your offices procedures for an emergency, so will rely on signs to find their way out of the building.
Tidy cables: Offices are crammed with electrical appliances, which could be a fire hazard if their air vents get blocked. Remember to hang any tinsel or garlands well away from lights and other sources of heat, such as computers. With extra cables for lighting, be careful of trip hazards and take appropriate precautions.
Slips & trips: Rain, snow, ice, wet leaves etc can all be triled into buildings to create create significant slip hazards in entrances to offices or loading bays.
Know your limit: Don’t drink and drive, this includes the morning after. Promote sensible drinking and safe driving to and from work.
The strongest message will be to enjoy yourself though, don't want to come across as a party pooper. Just need to get the balance right between promoting safety and having a laugh.
