Potentially looking at going down the ISO 45001 route and accrediation etc. Our safety management system is not accredited to any standard other than following HSG65. I have buy-in from management to look at ISO 45001 and now have the tasks of gap analysis, implentation planning and various meetings etc.
One thing I am keen on doing is finding a training course that would assit in implmenting the standard. Currently looking through various course providers to try and find the best one but has anybody been on one of these types of courses and did you find any benefit or was it a waste of resources.
Appreciate some may comeback with buy the standards (which I have) and go from there.

Dave Look at the guidance to ISO45001 and determine from there what you need. Would recommend Lead Auditor Course, as this gives you the information for auditing the system, but what information you may have/have not got in the organisation. We didnt do either, had a 2-Stage audit whereby they identified critical / non-critical findings (its not an audit at Stage 1) and then conducted the Stage 2 (which brought about a complaint from ourselves to the certification body - but thats another story) - then had certification awarded last month. Key elements which are new to most (unless you are ISO9001 accredited) is the context of the organisation and what is needed there - we have SWOT and PESTLE analysis, plus needs & expectations of interested parties and business risk register. We also support this with access to LUS (for the legal side, which also helps with Risks & Opportunities).
