Guidance on manual hand tool hand guard dimensions

Hi All, Please could you let me know if there is a standard / guidance or any document that could be used as guidance when designing a handguard for example for a chisel to protect hands from being struck by a hammer/mallet?
Thanks in advance

Martin Lack of responses probably confirms that there probably isn't such as standard at least not from any authoritative source.

you could make the use of a chisel safer by getting hands away from the line of fire. Chisel holders are available from many tool suppliers. For flogging wrenches etc you can use "Fingersaver" tools. Try searching the terms online Edited by user 18 February 2019 09:20:16(UTC)
