hi,

after some help/guidance.

we are a electrical contractor, upon induction candidates complete the normal paperwork/medical questionnaires etc.

would anyone suggest that medical records/questionnaires should be updated yearly/ bi yearly?

thanks

As a contractor you will almost certainly be required to carry out health surveillance (see the 6th edition of the ACoP for COSHH on this) and this would automatically update the record for the employee.

If you need more on this PM me with your contact details.

Let health surveillance update "the records" - you can paint yourself in to a corner requiring all employees to re-submit a questionnaire time and again e.g. if they fail to complete do you suspend them from work until they do?

The only time a new questionnaire would be issued to all is in the event of significant change across the business e.g. new materials that require a disclosure your original questionnaire did not consider.

The following frequency would be a suggestion ...pre-employment, after the first year or based on what has been found/ reported and then every 3 years or in line with your risk assessment update (ours is a three yearly review unless changed)...
