Just looking through the asbestos guidance index (https://www.hse.gov.uk/ASBESTOS/essentials/index.htm), is anyone aware of a guide just covering "simple guidance for someone who needs basic information on risks of exposure asbestos"?

Before you all throw the 'training and information' sermons at me, let me bring you into the real world.

There are tens of thousands of jobbing builders and "contractors" out there who:

  • have an attitude of "it'll never happen to me", or "I've been building for 30 years...";
  • do not see themselves as earning enough to pay for formal training;
  • no-one esle is going to pay;
  • are not computer literate;
  • won't spend more than a tea break at most to concentrate on information;

Working on the 80:20 rule, if a simple information sheet was available to wet the appetite, you might just start making the difference. The alternative is that a special court needs to be set up for a throughput of 30,000+ "couple of blokes and white van" jobbers.

HSE used to provide a simple guide, but I can't appear to locate it.

Thank-you for anyone who can point me in the right direction.
