one question springs to mind for these that state they are the only ones... what happens when you're on leave? sick? injured? Seems like a bit of a poor set up if there is only 1 person in the H&S team and no backup, in our company, we have myself and 2 other nebosh trained staff members, and 90 employees. we use each other to bounce information off, ideas and spot issues in vaious parts of the company (H&S, fleet, products, fire safety etc).

Craig In a utopian world an organisation should not need any dedicated HSE professionals (at least most of the time). Everyone else would have appropriate systems in place, be adequately trained and own health and safety. So how many are actually needed depends on the nature of the organisation and thence the level and range of risks and how competent and engaged the workforce are at all tiers of the organisation.

Around 1000,properties covering trading, commercial and residential in the portfolio, around 4000 staff, 3 in Health and Safety, 2 in the technical side of building compliance (me being one), plus 2 admin, however they have other duties, and my manager does alot more now in the realms of environment and sustainability.

Aaagh! this forum should be called the Ouija Board.

Or pretty close, after five years I would not be pensivley sat awaiting a pertinent answer to my post.
It is "bumped" thanks to a currently prolific click baiter - the next post "reported" should have been a clue.
