Just enquiring what other companies do or see? I know PPE is a last resort but in regards to excavations and buried services we instruct our operatives to wear flame proof overalls as a minimum when dealing with HV. This doesnt include flame proof gloves though (they wear normal gloves as a minimum anyway). It probably should but I'd like to know what others do? Does anyone know of any good reasonably priced flame proof gloves on the market? Any help will do. Thanks

There is quite a few suppliers I know, who specialise in this type of gloves – if you could give me a bit more detail about the application? Does HV stands for high voltage? All depends on the specs you are looking for i.e. are you focusing on dexterity or fire protection is the main thing, not really bothered about cut / abrasion / puncture resistance. If flame retardant gauntlets will be suitable then you looking at £3 to £4 per pair.

Thanks Zurek554. It generally for our operatives who carry out hand digging operations around services, its to provide some protection against arc flash incidents (contact with High Voltage cables). At the same the time they are hand digging so I would need cut resistance as well. Gauntlets is an option, not sure how long they would last being used for digging operations mind? Is there a tougher option out there. Feel free to send over some spec's though.

If you're protecting against arc flash then you need to provide flash proof NOT flame proof clothing. The force of an electrical explosion can shred most standard flameproof garments.

I think Progarm have some, or are nearly at a point of launching some suitable for those undertaking digging activities if thats what you are after. DM me and I can put you in contact with someone.
