Good day, we have a wire rope spanning a roof of about 10 meters, we have had it tested by a 3rd party in which he tested it with a 250kg load and issued a certificate to say 2 men can work off it. I am questioning it by saying that he should test it to support shock loading.
A job is on hold due to this as i am not convinced, can anybody shed some light
thanks

The person testing the equipment should be doing it in accordance with BS EN 795 Personal Fall Protection Equipment - Anchor Devices which goes through all the different test requirements for wire rope and associated anchor devices e.g. free fall distance, dynamic strength and integrity, static strength, deformation, post arrest suspension etc.
If they are a recognised and competent company then they should be providing you with information and certification that goes through all of the tests they carried out relevant to the equipment and standards applicable.
If you are not convinced of the confirmation they have provided take it up with them or have another company provide peace of mind.
