Hi all, I'm just wondering if somebody can provide me with some advice on if and where it's possible to get grants, bursarys or any other type of funding to go towards H&S training? I'm looking specifically for myself and for our business in general. I did some research online and couldn't seem to find anything conclusive; I believe IOSH themselves offer it (or seem to) but I wasn't sure if that was based on funding a specific project or whether it could be accessed for training? Please can someone advise? Thanks.

Depending on where you are located. The Scottish Government has a funding grant called the Flexible Workforce Development Fund which is available to employers who pay the apprenticeship levy. This fund is disbursed via participaring educational facilities such as colleges and is worth up to £15,000  but can only be used for training whcih is not otherwise specifically identifed through statute. I have used it for 2 years now and have put large numbers of employees through such training as IOSH Managing Safely and Leading for Safety etc.. which I would otherwise not have been able to do. Contact your local colleges and ask them what government funding they have to offer would be my recommendation as a starter.

Thanks Mike. I live and work in England, West Yorkshire so the Scottish Goverment grant you mentioned sadly won't apply. Thanks for the advice about contacting the local colleges though.
