Would my site operatives require a PERMIT TO ENTER a partially constructed, but protected by Sheet Piles, lift shaft base?

I am being told not, by the client and that they only need a ladder permit? Im unsure about this as Im sure that BS5975 states a permit to enter should be used when entering excavations or pits?

Is the lift pit deep? The majority of lift shaft pits are normally just over a meter deep.

As the client is so knowledgeable. They can also do your rescue plan.Simple answer is. What does tyour company procedures tell you to do? Have you read the confied space guidance?
