Could anyone point me in the direction of accident statistics relating to FM industries?

MB1 - you could probably hazard a guess from looking through the breakdown of US stats via the OSHA website. They break down further into sub-sectors than UK equivalent, though you are still going to have to pick a number of different sub-sectors to try and decide on some rule of thumb for FM as a whole.

Then, if you are in the UK or Ireland, you would need to make an adjustment for overall US stats being substantially higher like for like.

Then you would have to make at least one more adjustment to consider issues such as levels of underreporting and size of organisation.

Not easy to define any sort of "benchmark".

You could look at the BESA or HVCA websites, 1 of my clients is a BESA member, I usded to attend the meetings but haven't attended in about 12 months. But I'm sure they will have stats for you
