Good morning all

Long time reader, first time caller. Had an epihany on site yesterday looking at an Armorgard cutting station. the unit was modern with built in lighting and power distribution and I realised in all my years i've never seen one be PAT tested.

My professional brain says that, like any other cable, splitter, or lighting system, these should be tested for continuity and the like, as with any other electrical item on a construction site.

A quick websearch did not turn up any specific advice one way or another so I'm turning to you all to confirm what, after 20 years working in safety, I'd only just connected in my brain.

P - Portable

A - Appliance

T - Testing

As something moved between construction sites it ticks the portable box.

As it will be electrically powered by cable and plug it ticks the appliance box.

You are left to get the tested box ticked provided it is your equipment - otherwise ask the rental company for their maintenance evidence.
